2016 Development Partners Forum Overview
The 2016 Development Partners Forum, held on June 30 and July 1 in Tarawa, convened the Government of Kiribati and its international development partners to strengthen collaboration and align efforts toward the nation's development goals.
Key Objectives:
- Review Progress: Assess the implementation of the Kiribati Development Plan (KDP) 2016–2019 and discuss outcomes of the Mid-Term Review.
- Enhance Coordination: Foster dialogue between the government and development partners to ensure effective aid coordination and alignment with national priorities.
- Address Sectoral Challenges: Deliberate on critical sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, energy, and climate change, identifying challenges and proposing strategic interventions.

- Economic Reforms: Discussions on ongoing economic reform initiatives, including fiscal stability, public financial management, and state-owned enterprise reforms.
- Development Proposals: Compilation of a matrix of development proposals to guide future collaborations and investments by development partners.
